Oooh, thank you, Joan! Makes me smile in knowing that! Now I feel like we had one fabulously wonderful time riding horses together! There is not much that is as fun as a summer horseback ride! Glad you came along!
Thank you, Francesca! What days those were, right?! Nothing like them! I love that you got lost in the forest and had horse adventures! We lived in the mountains of Montana and would do the same. Truly magical times! No, I haven’t ridden in years, but would love to again. Our last horse passed several years ago, and our youngest grandson is always trying to convince us to buy another horse, or two or three! Haha If they were not priced so high right now, we would do it. Do you still ride? 🏇🏻😊💜
I had to stop three years ago due to fibromyalgia and an intestinal autoimmune disease, but I still have my horse, Dominic. He’s 21 now but in great shape . I was a dressage rider and hoped to get to GP but had to stop at PSG. I had a mare , too, a young one that I gave to my trainer because I didn’t want to sell her! She’s now doing GP!
My goodness! Your health issues mirror mine! I have fibromyalgia and autoimmune disease as well. I can completely understand the challenges that brings to being able to continue riding. It is wonderful that you still have your horse! They are healing beings just by being able to touch them and be in their presence.
I have never done dressage, though I have watched dressage riders. Truly beautiful to watch. A neighbor of mine, when I lived in Montana, is a dressage rider. Until I met her, I didn't know what it was. I have always ridden western, did some barrel racing when I was younger, but mostly road bareback when we weren't working cattle or taking long rides in the mountains. Two different worlds of riding style, yet we both know that fantastic joy of being on a horse! Nothing like it! Sounds like your mare is performing very well, and must be a joy to see that. Give your sweet boy, Dominic, a good pat and tell him hello from Texas! Loads of prayers for healing going your way, Francesca.
Big hugs to you, Marjorie! You give a loving boost to my confidence in sharing my writing! It means so much! Thank you for the affirmation! 🤗💜✨
Doing the audio has been a work in progress from the beginning; it is so out of my comfort zone. Most times I am satisfied with it, but this time….honestly, I was mortified when I listed this morning! I wondered if I had actually LISTENED to myself after that initial recording before uploading it! Surely! Anyhow, the second go isn’t perfect, but I can sleep tonight knowing I redid it! And….I hope those, who come to listen to it now, will find much more enjoyment in hearing this piece read! Blessings and MUCH LOVE to you, my friend! 🤗💞🙏🏼✨✍🏼🕊🥰
BOTH bring on stage fright for me, strangely! 😂 I thought that audio would be easier, but it really isn’t. I am a much more natural story teller around a campfire or a kitchen table and an even a better reader in front of a full classroom. How is that?! 🤔😆 Well, I am going to keep challenging myself to step outside of my comfort, though. As hard as that is! Just have to keep reminding myself that error will occur, and I’ll survive! 😊🙏🏼
I haven’t ridden many horses but I felt I was riding along with you in this poem.
