Ah…beautiful. I love sitting in an empty church, contemplating. Not strictly a believer, as such, but I am drawn to there being faith in the broadest sense and feel it very powerfully when I enter these simple churches…

Oh I love that…that the pew was taken and given a new life, still honouring all the others who will have spent time sitting on it and finding their own peace and opportunity to draw on the healing power of reflection. I want my own pew now!!!

Yes, exactly, Esther! Really is such a special place to have a sit. You should look for one! I am sure there are some out there. I saw several at a flea market several years ago and wanted to get one, but had no way to fit it in my car! Now that we have a pickup truck, I hope to come across one again. Keep your eye out! Blessings and MUCH LOVE, ~Wendy💜

Such a beautiful reflection, Esther, thank you! There is definitely something special about old churches, or the church of nature, that really makes connection and delivers peace. The pew in my poem is one my parents got when the old church in their little town was being renovated into a home. I do not recall if they purchased it or if it was given to them, but it has always been on their long front porch. Being there, though used to sit and take off muddy shoes, or to sit and visit with a number of family and friends, or just to be a place to enjoy the day's breeze, it has always been, for me, a place to sit at day's end to find my center, to appreciate the calm, or to send up a prayer. I guess it didn't matter where that pew was placed, it held space for so much, for so many. It holds a million memories, I am sure, and not just mine. It has always made me think, that is what all pews do, really, no matter where they are or who sits on them. Those pews, all part of the powerfully feeling you describe.....

Many blessings and MUCH LOVE,

~Wendy💜

Oh, this makes me smile. Thank you, Marjorie! There is something special about night air: the emotions associated with it and the literal smell of a quiet moment! It pulls at emotions, asks us to contemplate things, and beacons us to be still and listen.

Many blessings and MUCH LOVE,

~Wendy💜

Lovely, Wendy! I’d be out there too in the dark on the pew if only I had a decent porch.

Thank you, Carole! Ah, it is a special place to be, quite complimentary for bringing rise to all of life's contemplations.. A decent porch does contribute, yet the experience doesn't always need one to elicit the effects. Always appreciate you for reading and sharing your thoughts.

Many blessings and MUCH LOVE,

~Wendy💜
