Hello all and sundry,
WELL! How I gave thanks for all of y’all this Thanksgiving! You will never know just how much each of you means to me! I so enjoy sharing my writing with you and, if you are a writer on this space, reading your work as well. If you are here strictly for the reading, I LOVE that you take the time to come by, comment and/or share!
Hope you have had the BEST week, no fails! We have had our fill of turkey and all the fixin’s, spent a fabulous day with family, and are taking the weekend to continue all of that. The family has all gone off to do their thing (some are big shoppers, others have other plans) and we homebodies are taking this moment to be grateful for the time we had together and to exhale with restful breath to ready ourselves for December’s celebrations and gatherings.
Left over turkey, anyone?!
Of course, it’s shopping day! Black Friday! Now, I am NOT a shopper or one for crowds, so I’ll be absorbing the day by catching up on my pleasure reading, wrapping gifts, prepping packages to ship, and getting a jump on Christmas card writing! How do you spend the Friday after Thanksgiving?
I want to let you know that I am unendingly grateful for your presence here, for your loving interaction with me about my posts, and I look forward to reaching the yearend milestone of my 6 months on Substack! WOW! It has been such an incredible experience and I am so glad that I took the leap to give public focus on my long held passion for writing. Each of you has been my inspiration, motivation, and beautiful reason for meeting the keyboard and screen each day! So, as this year takes its final swirl and dances on out to meet a new year, I wanted to share some expectations for December and what is coming up with 2025.
NEWS for December:
Having been writing nonstop since June, I will be taking some time away from posting from December 17th through January 5th. (Will still be writing, of course, but preparing for the New Year and considering changes of my pace for February through May. Two things happen for me then: tax prep and my spring job, which are both intensive time consumers. I do need to find a way to balance creating on Substack and the time NEEDED to do these two things.
NEWS for January and on into spring:
For January, you can expect the same amount of posts from me as I’ve always done—2 poems Mondays and Fridays, 2 prose on 8th and 18th, the last Tuesday of the month Featured Writer, an Extra-EXTRA! and a surprise recipe. February (being chest deep in receipts and paperwork) so I will only have the Monday and Friday poetry posts. March through May will be something similar, just not sure how I’ll be ironing out the schedule. The idea is to post poems only on Fridays, the free prose piece on the 8th, one prose piece on the 18th for my paid subscribers, and the free Featured Writer article. I do hope you’ll understand for my need to ease up during this time; I definitely do not want to burnout on anything I am doing, especially the writing.
I promise you will get a few surprises now and again, some Extra-EXTRAS!, and I will be dropping in with NOTES and with comment responses, as well as comments left on the great reads I LOVE! I will be definitely trying to give time to still read my FAVS!
Don’t worry, I will let you know what things look like as the time nears, and when I know just what my work schedule (other job) looks like. If I can give you more, know that I WILL!
I love all of you and it fills me up knowing you are enjoying what I share with all y’all.
Well, happy leftover eating, shopping, putting your feet up and relaxing, and all the ‘ings you may be enjoying! See you in DECEMBER!
Many blessings and MUCH LOVE,
~Wendy💜
